Midnight Sun

 One of the fun songs of the summer (that was released last year as song of the summer, but it now gaining traction) is Midnight Sun.

 

It's the midnight sun-kissed skin under the red sky

Hold me like the pebbles in your hand, initials in the sand, yeah
Summer isn't over yet 

 

Today it is very humid and 30-35 for the next three or four days.  We had friends and family visiting, and we were lucky it was such beautiful weather, and not too hot.

But now it is hot, hot summer weather.

And it makes me think of all those places experiencing severe heat waves and I'm hoping they're ok and make it through it. 

The world is a very hot place, now and for the foreseeable future...but for now here the weather is summery and fun, and feels like the beginning of a true, hot summer.

The time when watching fireworks, or BBQs, or other great events are really quite fun. Summer is a fun season, and I like summer activities, but I think I will always be a fall and winter person most of all.

Trip to college with Alex and friends

 

We played many a game of Uno.

 Scrabble!  I lost.  Miserably.

But still having a great time.

 Badminton!  It gave me....more tendinitis! =(

 Campfires are the best.  This one was pretty good....fed it all evening with the wood Greg and I collected.

 Greg doing charades.  Biggest fail that I never got....Quicksand.  Sigh.

Phil admits that he has a problem and says goodbye to his best friend, alcohol.  Next vacation for Phil: detox and rehab.

 

Playing gin rummy!  (Also lost terribly at this....)

 

Remains of the weekend!  I had a great time, but I also was very tired by the end.  Was good to get to know Alex's friends a little better.  Overall, I had a fun time....it's been a long time since I did something like this, so it was a good learning experience for me.  Next time, I need to make more personal time for myself, I think.  It'll help me to have a better time.
