Time to Move Again
My roommate can apparently hear my computer playing a video game, quietly, through my door, and her door.
What else can she hear? This...this is insane. What are these walls made of?? Paper mache???
Seriously, I've had it. Time for a change of scenery. I'm finding a new place.

I didn't sleep last night
I slept from 1:00 a.m. to 2:30 a.m.
Someone woke me up. It was a sauna in my room.
I have now managed to not sleep for many, many hours.
It's going to be a long weekend, but not the kind I like.

I hate long weekends. Everything bad always happens to me on long weekends.

Today, May 20, was a very bad day
Thanks to Chris, who helped me conquer it and keep from dying inside.
Better news, next week for sure.

Boy I screwed up
Augh, I HATE it when I really screw-up, relationship-wise.
I feel like such a dirt-bag. And it's because I was trying to do the right thing, apparently.
I'm such a dummy.

Too Busy
Hey guys and gals, sorry I haven't posted on here lately, I have had so much to do, and frankly, not a lot of time to do it. I took a weekend off for myself to prepare for the onslaught starting tomorrow. Heh. I'll basically have four 12-15 hour days in a row, so I kinda needed it for myself. And I should get to bed, but I'm rebelling. Yar.
Anyways, I'm off for a mini-break, and then I'm going to study for a test tomorrow.

Time Lapse
I had a four hour nap and I'm STILL up until 2 in the morning. This is what happens when I forget I have a quiz tomorrow that I don't want to study for at midnight. AUGH!
I really should just go to bed. =/ =/ =/

Videogames are the bane of my existence

I accidentally let a friend in my class send me a video game called Plants vs. Zombies last week and IT TOOK OVER my life. Smiling plants and zombies are clearly my Achilles heel for time wasting.
But I love this game.

TOW: Never Sleeping
I'm sorry I haven't been able to post regularly, you guys. I've just been so busy with my classes, and once one of them finishes in a week and half, I'll have at least part of my sanity back. And I won't be sacrificing sleep for powerpoint presentations.
What I've learned, however, is that I can be a normal, happy, functioning human being on so little sleep I wonder if anyone except me even notices the fact that I'm ab-so-lute-ly losing my mind with tired.
And tonight was supposed to be a night when I got a really, really good nights rest. Thanks, Powerpoint, for freezing on me several times. You really upped my productivity at two in the morning.

I'm officially joining facebook as we speak =(
Sigh.
I avoided it for so long, because I REALLY didn't want to do it.
But now I need to do it for work and school.
Sigh....
Why did I wanna join Public Relations again?

Today I have:
i) Worked for seven hours
ii) went to the library and did research
iii) went to the gym
iv) had a nap
v) Did the dishes
vi) made a meal from scratch
vii) Walked the dog
vii) replied to my e-mails
viii) Helped my brother write an essay in one evening
ix) Talked on the phone with friends
I'm so productive today and I have no idea how I did it.

That is the LAST time I eat two bags of salty and sweet popcorn in one sitting.

I found a pretty hilarious facebook parody of what would happen if facebook was real life.
This is one is an action movie preview. Awesome.
This is part of why I'm sure most people should hate facebook.
This is both a parody of internet dating, and what's wrong with social media.
Watch the action one for sure.
Cartoon/contest update coming soon this week! Stay tuned!

Well, that was new
Huh, I just got hit with Windows AntiVirus2008, the newest malware on the net.
Well, thankfully, it only took like 15 minutes to destroy, but I was very, very angry. I can't decide if the video codec for some video I watched who-knows-when had some sort of time sensitive malware attachment, or if me just being connected wirelessly to the Internet somehow just made me prone to someone going through my firewall/Norton lame-o virus protection.
(Actually, what I really think is what happened is that Martin downloaded it onto my computer, and he just flat-out lied about it, but being suspicious will get me nowhere.) However, I've read a couple other forum stories, where people basically started up their desktop and an unwanted friend had moved in. =/ So, however they're doing it, they're pretty smart about it.
I think the thing that made me really mad is that they have this horrible, horrible desktop wallpaper that installs with the program that is literally just an advertisement about how very infected your computer is. Anyone who knows me knows I LOVE wallpaper, and it's like....really, really mean when someone messes with my wallpaper. I was this close to sending them an angry letter! (Even if they would have sent me more malware. =P)
Huh, I think that would make a good wallpaper theme.

Argh
I am having trouble sleeping again, so if you see me on the street corner, and I am making zombie-like noises, it's not your fault. And I don't want any brains. (Well, I do, but mine will return shortly, after this week, I'm positive.)
Postive. Eh heh.
Sigh.

Football Canada
Hey Guys,
My brother's team might be disqualified from playing the gold medal game, the team fined $1000 because they have ineligible players, which the other team ratted to Football Canada about. This wouldn't be a problem if:
My brother's team might be disqualified from playing the gold medal game, the team fined $1000 because they have ineligible players, which the other team ratted to Football Canada about. This wouldn't be a problem if:
- Team Sask hadn't been honest about it and had a verbal agreement that this was alright
- that it says specifically in the rules that Football Canada is supposed to specifically check to make sure that all the team players are eligible, and that people here are blaming Team Sask
- that Alberta, who complained, had a tape of team Sask which they were not allowed to have, but Football Canada has said, "Oh well, it was just a mistake." Hypocrites, much?
A lot of what I have learned about being here is that Sports Council people are the same all the way up--they're stupid and they'll do anything to make themselves look not that stupid. I wish I had a lot of better things I could say, but at every turn the Football Canada people have said the wrong thing and done the wrong thing, and violated their own rules, which is absolutely unbelievable to me. Cartoon Madness
Hey,
Sorry about the lack of updates and the loss of cartoons. My little brother Martin intiated a fatal error on my computer which I only managed to get fixed around this weekend (Thanks and blessings to Liz's brother Paul, who had a Windows XP backup disk). SO, now that my computer with my a) software b) cartoons c) life is up and running, I can finally get back on schedule. I feel a little sick today, so I will be staying in and posting resumes like a mad, mad man.
Mad.

Music
You know, I've been doing a lot of thinking lately (or perhaps the abscence thereof) and I realize that I love really happy, good-vibe music. Shamefully, I am currently addicted to S-club 7 videos on the Internet. Whenever I'm feeling sad, I listen to S-Club 7. It's really sick, I know, but I love the choreographed dance and the people in it are cute and clean-cut all of them, so you feel like you're in a happy place where no one has heard of the term bling and you don't need to swear or be existential to create good music that people like.
Infortunately, I've started listening to Coldplay as well on youtube, and watching the music videos, I get really depressed, in that very emo way where you cuddle with your sadness. I ssit there and get sad, and then I decide I need something happy, and I listen to S-club 7 and watch them dance around in pastel colours that have clearly been chosen carefully and sing about love and happiness and 'making it.'
Repeat ad infinitum.
Obviously, this is probably not a mentally healthy exercise, but I just can't seem to stop. I love listening to 'The Scientist' or whatever it is called, and "Yellow" and then listening to "Don't Stop" or "Never Had a Dream Come True" or "Reach" or even "You" by S Club 7.
That's because "That's when all your dreams will come true."
Sigh.
This is so mentally unstable.

Well....well....

So, to make a very long story short, I got my hair cut yesterday. And then I cut my finger nearly in half. But they can't put stitches in it because I basically carved out a good third of my right ring finger. And if it wasn't for Julian I probably wouldn't have even gone to emergency...so it's thanks to him that I seriously did not die in a pool of blood on the bathroom floor. =/
Then I waited in the hospital for a very long time. Basically, I ate my supper at midnight.
My finger throbs a lot, and if I hit it in the wrong place, I nearly see stars, but other than that, I'm really happy. I mean, if it had been a good 'Brennan day' I would have sliced my arm in half instead. Besides, too many good things are happening for me to be sad, so I know I'm really happy here...because there are some things that are just going right. And that's that I have a friend who will help me when I'm in trouble. And that's all I needed.
=D
(A little bit bizzare of an ending, I guess, but it means so much to have friends...)

HA! IN YOUR FACE FLE!
I JUST WENT TO A PARTY WITH FRENCH EXCHANGE KIDS IN UNIVERSITY RESIDENCE AND SPOKE FRENCH COMPLETELY FOR 4 1/2 HOURS. IT WAS BEAUTIFUL AND EVERYONE UNDERSTOOD MOST OF WHAT I SAID AND I UNDERSTOOD THEM. (Uh, within reason.)
THEREFORE:
1) SCREW QUEBEC AND ITS ACCENT. NO ONE CAN UNDERSTAND THEM. I LOVE THE 'VRAIMENT' FRENCH.
2) I CAN PLAY DRINKING GAMES IN FRENCH. IN YOUR FACE, FLE.
3) I LOVE SPEAKING FRENCH. I HAD THE MOST FUN I'VE EVER HAD SINCE BEING HERE LAST NIGHT. IN FRENCH.
4) I AM VINDACATED. HENCEFORTH, I SHALL PROWL AND STALK FRENCH PEOPLE COMING TO QUEBEC IN RESIDENCE AND PERFORM DARK RITUALS AND MAKE THEM MY LANGUAGE SLAVES.
5) Uh, omit #4, especially about the whole "I'm into the necronomicon' kinda stuff.
6) I LEARNED AND FIXED SEVERAL PIECES OF MY F-LANGUAGE AT AN EXTREMELY LARGE PARTY. I HAD CONVERSATIONS THAT LASTED OVER 45 MINS IN FRENCH. I AM AWESOME AND SCREW THE GRAMMAR NAZIS IN THE FLE AND THEIR INABILITY TO PUT ME IN THE RIGHT LEVEL OR AT LEAST CHALLENGE ME AT THE LEVEL I'M IN. STILL. ANGRY. KILL. RAGE. FUME. VENT. RANT. MOB. TEDDY BEAR. YES!
7) I WILL HENCEFORTH MOVE TO FRANCE AND BE A REFUGEE AND LIVE IN A SLUM OF PARIS. I WILL OPEN A TABAGIE WHERE PEOPLE CAN WALK INTO MY STORE AT 3AM DRUNK AND HIGH AND BUY DORITOS AND AMERICAN CIGARETTES. THIS IS A GOOD IDEA. IT WILL WORK WELL. FRANCE LOVES ME. MORE THAN A PHD.
8) I MET A GERMAN GIRL IN PHILOSOPHY AT THE PARTY. I WILL MAKE HER MY FRIEND. SHE WILL HELP ME ENROLL IN A PHILOSOPHY COURSE. LIFE HAS MEANING AGAIN. I HOPE SHE E-MAILS ME.
In other news, I lost David when he left the party, my 'debutant' friend in my class who invited me . I meant to walk him or see him home, but I lost him. =/ I really hope he's not dead in a gutter somewhere. Eeek. More stress.
Seriously, people, I came here to speak french. I do not have good things to say about this program yet, and it continually goes downhill, so it's only good things about french people. (Which, when you think about it, means that I would have been better off just coming here and working and making money instead of spending money. Sigh.) And I feel much better that I talked to french people, and a lot of them admitted that they don't even understand the Quebeckers here. So, in my love affair with Quebec I have only one thing to say...it's not me, Quebec. Maybe it's a bit me, but maybe it's a lot of 'you.' Therefore, we might have to break up someday. Please don't let this happen. Make me love you again and all your 'oui's. Have me fall in love you with, like the snowflakes that ever so delicately cut into my face, because they're not snowflakes, they're freaky ice storm chunks shaped like daggers and the size of fleas. I can still take your abuse Quebec. I'll still say I fell down the stairs and hit my head when I have that black eye in my grammar and in my speech...people will believe me. So, make it so, Quebec, make it so.
*End rant*
